Given its breath-taking stature, one can see that this amethyst cluster was freed from an especially large geode and with amethyst of exceptional quality within. The colour and size of the crystals’ peaks causes the light to be refracted exquisitely, creating a hypnotising, sparkling pillar of amethyst. The variation of the colour, intensity and size of peaks are magnetising to the viewer. As the piece is in a rough state it’s possible to appreciate the layers emerging, from the rough basalt at the back, the white quartz in the middle, which frames the intense amethyst on top. The piece is artfully supported by a custom metal stand.
