An interesting and stunning geode section with a striking colour mix. In this aesthetic piece the original basalt has been polished to reveal the exquisite green celadonite hidden within on the front, whilst maintaining its rough condition at the back. Such a thick and vibrant celadonite layer is uncommon. The interior of the mineral sculpture is endowed with a gorgeous very deep purple amethyst formation, which contrasts with the green celadonite beautifully. The transition between the green celadonite and the amethyst is marked by layers of brown agate and white quartz. Like a cherry on top, a beautiful white calcite formation, overlaid with white quartz, stands out on top of the sparkling amethyst. Calcite formation on amethyst is relatively rare, owing to different formation temperatures required for the two minerals. The exquisite piece is of a nice decorative size and is displayed on a custom metal stand.
