A breath-taking large amethyst cluster, with an incredible amethystoverlaid calcite formation at the top. This formation is unusual for its overall scale and the extremely high quality of its intense violet amethyst crystals. Furthermore, the inclusion of an exceptional cream coloured calcite formation at the top that is overlaid with a blanket of amethyst and druzy white quartz. The formation is completely natural and unenhanced; the edges have been polished to reveal the white quartz base of the amethyst, which sits on a band of agate. The original rough basalt exterior survives on the back. Amethyst overlaid calcite is relatively rare, owing to different formation temperatures required for the two minerals. This stunning formation is one of the finest of its type to appear on the market.
